Indestructible

Lyrical Interpretation

Inside the Fire - David Draiman explains that the song is a recount of when his girlfriend committed suicide.[16] Rather than offer a song that grieves about the loss, the song is about the choice to follow Devon, as the devil tries to persuade him. In the official video, Draiman gives a public service announcement to seek help. At the end of the video he sticks the gun in his mouth but is later shown to be in a mental hospital and thus has chosen to live with the world’s insanity. The song continues to promote the idea that issues need to be brought out rather than hidden.

Indestructible - This song is a response to the band’s followers being portrayed as an army. It also offers two meanings of “indestructible”. The first relates to the physical - being undestroyable in nature. However, the second is tied into the meanings from the Believe album. The title refers to the indestructible will of belief that allows people to cast away fear. This is shown in the lyric “determination that is incorruptible.” The rest of the song relates to soldiers carrying out orders. As this metaphor is clearly seen by the troops, the argument could be made that Disturbed does indeed have a message for society to take away from their music and that is about how to live.
