Believe

Lyrical Interpretation

Prayer - Draiman explains that this song is a response to the idea of a vengeful God.[14] This response is due to the fact that people have become scared in the aftermath of events such as Sept 11. He is showing that these events were not intended as punishment for humans being sinful. After the second chorus, there seems to be a sarcastic commentary of God after these events, saying "return to me". The section closes with a direct shot at the people who may have perpetrated this "return to God" ideology in order to force their idea on others. It states "You've made me turn away." The chorus of the song states that life is not hard enough and to take everything away. It seems Disturbed wants people to focus on the strength of their own ideals and not worry about the pushy or aggressive followers of religion.

Believe - This work is a criticism of the idea that simple penance may be sufficient to remove sin. The song does not say that good works will not help, but that faith and belief are also needed. As a general theme of the album the strength of the human mind and will are also required.

Rise - This song is symbolic of the concert experience.[15] Going to the show is a process of removing unease. Thus, the song wants to show the crowd to rise and throw away fear. It is paramount to feel the flame of the performance. Consequently, all conversation during the show will not be heard but felt through the performance.
